We run a series of media courses for pupils, teachers and community groups.
Courses can be tailored to meet your requirements but here are some examples.
Movie Makers Course
This course utilises the very latest digital camcorders and the highly regarded Apple iMovie software for editing. You will learn about scripting, camera and production techniques, filming on location and editing. On completion of the course, you will have created your very own two-minute movie. There will be a maximum of 12 people on this course and you will work together in teams of two to create your movie.
Advanced Camera Course
Working with a professional camera operator, you will learn how to use a broadcast quality camera (Sony V1/Z1) often used in the television and film industry. You will develop your camera skills by learning about automatic and manual focus, white balance, composition and camera angles, exposure and more to enhance the quality of your footage.
Advanced Editing Course
Using the industry-standard editing package, Final Cut Pro, you will learn how to edit your films professionally by utilising its many features. You will learn how to perform basic editing functions and familiarise yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customising preferences and settings, capturing video and audio and various editing and trimming techniques. You will also be taught how to export your footage as a finished film.
Animation Course
Working alongside a professional animator, you will learn how to create animated films by scanning your sketches onto an Apple computer and colouring them using Photoshop. You will learn how to create characters and a plot in order to produce a short animation, which is then put onto DVD.
Media Training
We offer media training for a range of people from head teachers to councillors to professional sports people. In an increasingly media-dependent world, people in the spotlight need to be prepared for awkward questions being thrown at them in difficult situations. We offer training courses that can be delivered to a group or on a one-to-one basis to ensure you are not caught off-guard when approached by the media.
Courses are priced according to the number of people taking part and the number of days required.
Please get in touch with us so we can cost your course depending on individual requirements.
